Valnora Edwin

Valnora is Civil Society Leader, political governance analyst and a civil society activist with over eighteen years of experience in governance, public policy, human rights and women’s rights. She has first-hand experience in peace-building initiatives, which includes transitional justice processes, especially truth commissions, and reparation programmes, women and girls’ rights, and enhancing voice and accountability for marginalised groups.

She has served as a national Observer of elections in Sierra Leone since 2004 and has been a panellist for various UN entities in New York on issues relating to women, peace and security. She also served as a member of the Independent Panel on the Global Response to Ebola coordinated by the Harvard Global Health Institute and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to assess the global response to Ebola and provide recommendations that were published in the LANCET.

She is the former Executive Director of Campaign for Good Governance – a post she held for 12 years.
