“Our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not, anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see.”

Maggie Collier

Maggie has been involved with Purposeful since its early days, believing passionately in its aims and in the ability of women and girls to bring about positive and lasting change.

Maggie is a strong advocate for the rights of disadvantaged young people. For over a decade she has been involved in the Drive Forward Foundation which supports young people who have grown up in the care system in the UK as they face the challenge of finding employment. Drive Forward offers practical help and also advocates for change to an arguably broken system. Maggie believes in the positive value of art and drama on wellbeing, particularly on mental health, and serves on the development committee of the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond. She serves as a mentor to various young women across different organisations and is also a campaigner for animal welfare.

Maggie spent many years in consumer insight and brand strategy. She was Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Flamingo, a global organisation, working alongside Kirsty Fuller who is also a Purposeful Trustee. Maggie now works as an independent consultant. In the course of her career, she has travelled extensively and continues to do so. She has three grown up children.
