Damaris Kyuu

Damaris is a Finance professional with wealth of experience in Finance in the humanitarian sector, where she has worked for over 8 years. Prior to joining Purposeful,  she was the Grants and Operations at Akili Dada. She also served in various Finance & Accounting roles at Lutheran World Federation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce – Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from United States International University- Africa.

Damaris is passionate about creating awareness for girls’ and women’s rights and speaking against retrogressive cultural and social trends and practices that suppress their progress. She is enthusiastic about creating spaces for girls and young women to identify and articulate issues that are specific and important to them as well as promoting access to quality education and opportunities. Her leadership and feminism journey has taught her that if one of us is not free, then we are all not free. What we desire the most will not be achieved by having comfortable conversations.
