Annie is a chartered accountant who has specialised in the public and charity sectors for the last 7 years. Her work as a public sector auditor primarily focused on the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and Department for Communities and Local Government as well as their underlying agencies and NDPBs, giving her a solid grounding in the mechanisms of the UK government.
Looking for a more global outlook for her work, she made the move into international development, specialising in DFID commercial contracts and restricted funds at Christian Aid, going on to have overall financial responsibility of the global commercial contracts and restricted funds portfolios. The role took her to Ghana, Kenya and Ethiopia to ensure sound financial management, compliance and governance was in line with DFID, EU and USAID requirements, working alongside teams in each country and building the financial management capacity of partners. She also worked closely with the team in Sierra Leone, as well as with teams across the Sahel, Sub Saharan Africa and Latin America & the Carribean.
Annie is passionate about building the confidence of youth and amplifying their voices. In her spare time she acts as a treasurer for a local leadership academy for BAME boys in Southwark.
