Salina Club House

Salina Clubhouse was formed in 2017 by a group of girls who previously participated in a safe spaces program run by an international NGO in Moyamba District. Made up of both in-school and out-of-school girls, including girls who have never been to school the group initially had the benefit of a rented space for their meetings as well as materials and games for their club. When the program ended, all that was taken away, including the creation materials. That did not stop the girls from sustaining their group. They started meeting at the mentor’s house but had to stop meeting during COVID-19 because the space was too small, making it difficult to maintain safe physical distance. Funds support them to identify a space where they can continue to meet and materials for recreation. They will also use funds to buy school materials for girls who are in school.
