Project Soar is a female-led organisation established in 2013 that works to help teen girls build their leadership skills to ensure that they grow into strong women that can bring about change in their communities. Project Soar works with marginalised teen girls between the ages of 13 and 19 in rural and semi-rural communities in Morocco and gives them the chance to realise their full potential through after school programming. Project Soar’s empowerment programme helps teens build their leadership skills and stay in school longer. Project Soar in a Box is a 50-hour curriculum that helps girls understand their value, know their voice, appreciate their body, embrace their rights and see their path. All girls receive period kits to help them manage their menstruation for three years. The programme is led by a team of trained facilitators who are from the communities where they work. The project is now in over 42 locations across Morocco and five in Uganda.
