Poeman Investors was established in 2015 in Koinadugu District by a group of young people who each donated 50,000 Leones towards the start-up of the organization. They used the funds to acquire 2 acres of land, which they use to carry out farm activities. One of their major projects turns agricultural waste (rice husk and saw dust) into an environmentally friendly charcoal alternative called briquettes. Their work is creating employment opportunities for other youths whilst also saving the planet by turning recycled wastes into an alternative for charcoal. Funds supported them to purchase machines and a tricycle that facilitated the expansion of their business.
