Lesbian* Resistance are a group of young lesbians* and gender non-conforming people who aim to mobilise, empower one other and bring visibility to their concerns in Georgia. The group utilise a non-hierarchical, non-formal structure, and they hope to remain radical and free by rethinking the meaning of resistance. Lesbian*Resistance’s major goal is to spread queer feminist ideas amongst community members who avoid formal organisations and thus remain beyond their services and reach. The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the economic vulnerability of Lesbians*, many of whom have precarious employment, and there are no shelters in Georgia for LGBTQI people. Lesbian*Resistance aims to provide direct support to community members by covering their basic needs, offering mentorship opportunities with the hopes of increasing employment options, and providing free and professional psychological support.
