Sierra Leone

Girls+

Girls+ is a non-profit organisation that is driven by community level interventions aimed at providing adolescent reproductive health education and services to girls in Sierra Leone; and delivering programmes that help mitigate the risks and incidence of sexual abuse and violence against girls in Sierra Leone. The organisation works in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone, local non-profits organisations, activists, international development partners and private sector entities to design and implement projects that align with its strategic objectives. Girls+ is in the process of developing programmes that will contribute to address a range of issues that prevail in the society. These problems have been experienced first-hand and continually by the founder, Asmaa James in her line of work and interactions over 18 years in journalism and community-based activism in Sierra Leone.
