Corónate Princesa in Puerto Rico was founded in 2017 with the aim of empowering girls and young women on issues of gender equality, violence and discrimination. The group aims to raise awareness among young people of the power they have to change the patriarchal culture that affects them. Corónate Princesa aims to develop young women’s leadership and emotional health through educational campaigns and materials against all types of violence. The group is also working on a bill against gender violence in Puerto Rico and on the drafting of the Charter of the Rights of the Puerto Rican Girl.
