ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT SIERRA LEONE (AWOD-SL) was inspired by passion to reduce violence and discrimination against women and girls. Inspired to uphold the rights and dignity of women and girls, AWOD-SL also focuses on promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights. They currently facilitate safe spaces across five communities where girls build solidarity with other girls as they develop life skills to navigate adolescence. AWOD-SL is particularly gifted at connecting with and supporting girls in commercial sexual exploitation to transition into livelihoods that open up opportunities for a healthy and more fulfilled life.
